Grant Gower joined the staff of Oklahoma Baptist in the Spring of 2016 as Offensive Coordinator after a successful high school coaching career.

Gower, who played baseball at Oklahoma Baptist, has been a coach and educator in central Oklahoma since 1984. Gower is the winningest football coach in Deer Creek history with an overall record of 57-32 since 2007 and seven appearances in the State Playoffs. He started his stay at Deer Creek in 2012 as an assistant coach.

Gower graduated from OBU in 1984 with a bachelor's of science degree in social science and mathematics and earned his master's of science degree from Oklahoma State in 1992.

Under Gower, the Antlers advanced to the Class 5A playoffs in seven of eight years, going to the quarterfinals twice.  In 2014, the Antlers were the District Champion, compiling a perfect 7-0 record in district play.  In 2012, the Antlers were the District Champion, finishing with a 10-2 record -- the program's first 10-win season in 12 years.  In addition, he has almost 300 career wins as a head baseball coach. In his 30 years of coaching, he has had the opportunity to coach nine All-State players, two NFL players, and three Major League Baseball players.

Coach Gower was selected as the All State Football Head Coach for the West team in 2011. He was also the Edmond Sun Coach of the Year, as well as The Oklahoman Edmond Coach of the Year.

He and his wife Paula, who is OBU's associate vice president for marketing and communication, have three children – Matt, Cami and Macy.

Gower is a deacon at Quail Springs Baptist Church and was 2015 Youth for Christ Impact Man of the Year.
