Edward "Bud" Pruitt joined the OBU coaching staff in July 2019 after a brief stint as the linebackers coach on Ottawa University in Arizona.

Pruitt played tight end at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) from 2009-2014. During his senior season he played in 11 games with three starts for the Blazers and was voted a team captain.

Originally from Prichard, Alabama, Pruitt attended Theodore High School where he played both football and basketball and was named all-region in both sports.
