Daniel Eaton has helped oversee the most productive offensive era in modern Oklahoma Baptist football history. Since arriving on Bison Hill, Eaton has developed All-Americans, conference award winners and professional football players while helping establish the Bison as one of the top offensive programs in the Great American Conference.
Under Eaton's leadership, the Bison offense has produced four All-Americans, six All-Region selections and 23 All-Great American Conference honorees. He has also coached a pair of GAC Offensive Players of the Year in quarterback Preston Haire, who earned the honor in both 2019 and 2021.
Eaton has played a key role in the development of several professional players. Wide receiver Keilahn Harris signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2023, while Haire signed professionally with the Hamburg Sea Devils and offensive lineman Jake Foshee joined the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. Haire also earned a rookie minicamp invitation from the New Orleans Saints in 2022.
In his first season as offensive coordinator in 2021, Eaton directed one of the most explosive offenses in school history. Oklahoma Baptist finished among the national leaders in total offense, scoring offense, first downs and third-down efficiency while posting an 8-4 record and capturing the Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl championship.
The 2021 Bison established numerous program records, including total offense per game (447.2), passing yards per game (279.7), passing yards (3,435), passing touchdowns (41), first downs (313) and total offense (5,372). Quarterback Preston Haire set school records for passing yards, passing touchdowns, completions and passing yards per game, while wide receivers Josh Cornell and Keilahn Harris each surpassed 1,000 receiving yards and earned All-America recognition.
Prior to becoming offensive coordinator, Eaton served as OBU's wide receivers coach beginning in 2019. During his first season on Bison Hill, he mentored Joshua Cornell to what was then the most productive receiving season in school history, helping Cornell earn conference and national recognition. He also coached Noah McGraw to All-Conference honors.
Before arriving at Oklahoma Baptist, Eaton spent time as a graduate assistant at Black Hills State and previously served as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at The Harker School in San Jose, California.
A native of Los Altos, CA, Eaton competed collegiately at UCLA from 2012-16. During his time with the Bruins, UCLA won the 2012 Pac-12 South Division title and earned victories in the Sun Bowl and Alamo Bowl.
Eaton earned his bachelor's degree in history from UCLA in 2016. He and his wife, Alexa, a former Oklahoma Baptist women's basketball student-athlete, have one son, Kai.
