ADA, OK – Oklahoma Baptist volleyball picked up its fourth straight win and remained perfect in Great American Conference action with a 3-1 victory over East Central on Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Kerr Activities Center.

The Bison (13-4, 5-0 GAC) held the Tigers (5-10, 1-4) to just .134 on the attack and got a huge performance from Mackenzie Frazee to come away with the win.

Oklahoma Baptist claimed the opening frame, 25-23, in a set that featured eight ties and seven lead changes. The Bison erased a 13-11 deficit and gradually built a 20-17 advantage before East Central rallied to tie the score at 20-20.
 
OBU answered by scoring four of the next five points to reach set point at 24-20. The Tigers fought off three consecutive set points to close within 24-23, but Lauren Safrit delivered the set-ending kill to secure the two-point victory.
 
East Central captured the second set 29-27 despite Oklahoma Baptist erasing a six-point deficit. The set featured 13 ties and three lead changes. ECU used a 5-0 run to build a 15-10 lead and later stretched the margin to 19-13 before the Bison rallied. OBU answered with a 4-0 run to turn a 22-20 deficit into a 24-22, but the Tigers fought off several set points and scored the final two points after a 27-27 tie to even the match.
 
Oklahoma Baptist responded with a dominant third-set performance, pulling away for a 25-17 victory. The set featured five ties and three lead changes, with East Central leading by as many as four points early at 7-3. After the teams were tied at 13-13, the Bison seized control with a decisive 5-0 run to build an 18-13 advantage and never looked back, closing the frame with an eight-point win.
 
The Bison secured the match with a 25-21 fourth-set victory. The set featured five ties and one lead change, with East Central holding its final lead at 10-9. OBU responded with a decisive 4-0 run to turn a 10-10 tie into a 14-10 advantage and maintained control the rest of the way. OBU pushed its lead to as many as six points at 20-14 before closing the match with back-to-back points, including an Emily Boyer service ace on match point.
 
Frazee led the Bison with 13 kills and added four blocks, while Rylee Unruh and Addison Dale each had nine kills. Boyer tallied 27 assists, and Unruh and Elle Parisi each had 24 digs.

• The Bison snapped a two-game road losing streak to the Tigers, improving to 8-4 when facing ECU in Ada.
• Anna Howle picked up win number 449 of her career and needs just one more to hit 450 career victories.
• Emily Boyer increased her career assist total to 2,930. She is now 70 assists shy of 3,000. She would be the second player in program history with 3,000 assists.
• Mackenzie Frazee tallied double-digit kills for the third match in a row. She has 36 kills in OBU's last three matches and is hitting .464 during that stretch.
• Rylee Unruh added another ace to push her career total to 151, with 126 of those coming at OBU. She is three aces away from moving into a tie for fourth in program history.
