ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Oklahoma Baptist battled throughout Wednesday's Great American Conference road match, but host Ouachita capitalized on its opportunities in a 3-0 decision at Kluck Field.

The Tigers struck early, taking a 1-0 lead just 3:13 into the contest when Isabella Savattere converted a direct free kick into the upper-right corner of the net. The early goal put the Bison on the defensive against a Ouachita attack that generated 20 shots and 12 shots on goal during the match.

Despite the setback, Oklahoma Baptist created several scoring chances in the opening half. Hali White led the charge offensively, recording three shots on goal, while Ajae Belliston and Clara Martin each added attempts. Ouachita goalkeeper Dominique Klujian preserved the shutout with three first-half saves as the Tigers carried a 1-0 advantage into the break.

The Bison remained within striking distance early in the second half, but Ouachita extended its lead in the 54th minute. Lily Ahlers finished a setup from McKenna Wright, placing a shot into the top-right corner for a 2-0 cushion. The Tigers added an insurance goal in the 75th minute when Olivia Erskine headed home a cross from Karlie Kizer to make it 3-0.

Oklahoma Baptist finished with nine total shots and five shots on target. White paced the squad with three shots on goal, while Camden Ocheskey and Belliston each tested the Tigers' goalkeeper once.

In goal, Makenzie Christian made three saves before exiting in the first half, and Emilia Gallego provided a strong effort off the bench with six saves over the final 63 minutes. The Bison goalkeeping tandem combined for nine saves.

With the result, Oklahoma Baptist moved to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in Great American Conference play. It's the first time since 2015, a D2 transitional year, that the Bison have lost their opening trio of GAC matches.
