SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist (1-8, 0-4 GAC) fell short in their loss on Saturday as Harding took control of the second half for a final score of 5-2. The game experienced an hour-long weather delay resulting in the game concluding at 4:15 p.m.

Harding took the first goal just 5:49 into the match when Katie Jones tipped in an assisted shot off the right foot and hit the net to take a 1-0 lead.

Despite the early deficit, Oklahoma Baptist soon returned the favor in the seventh minute when a cross by Elena Markwell was chested in by Hope White to tie the match at 1-1.

Both teams would then trade possessions without finding the net until late in the first half. In the 42^nd minute a Harding corner kick would find Sami Berry for an upper body score to give them a 2-1 advantage going into the break.

At the beginning of the second half, the Bison would attempt to re-tie the score on a handful of opportunities. This included shots attempts by White, Addison Gray and Camden Ocheskey.

However, these scoring efforts would be delayed at 2:32 p.m. due to lightning in the area.

Play resumef at 3:44 p.m, at which point Harding would strike fast to score back-to-back goals in the 63^rd and 64^th minutes, putting the score at 4-1.

Oklahoma Baptist attempted to keep it close with a score by Annelis Perez , who scored on a deflected ball in the 75th minute. However, Harding added an insurance goal in the 78^th minute for its final tally.

With the defeat, the Bison are 1-8 and 0-4 in the GAC for the first time since joining the league 11 years ago.
