Emily Boyer was named the GAC Setter of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Boyer compiled 94 assists, 31 digs, five kills and one block assist as the Bison defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State and Southern Nazarene. She posted a season-high 54 assists in a thrilling 3-2 victory over SNU and averaged 11.75 assists per set during the week.
The Choctaw native is 132 assists shy of becoming the second player in OBU history to reach 3,000 career assists. Boyer has posted 40 or more assists six times this season, including three performances with at least 50.
She leads the GAC and ranks third nationally in total assists. Boyer also ranks 43rd nationally in assists per set at 9.26 and is among the top 200 in total digs.
The honor is Boyer's second GAC Setter of the Week award this season after she also received the distinction on Aug. 31. Her selection marks the fourth consecutive week in which the Bison have produced a GAC weekly award winner.
Rylee Unruh earned the league's Offensive Player of the Week honor on Sept. 7 and Sept. 14. It is the second time in program history that the Bison have won a GAC weekly award in four consecutive weeks.
Boyer and the Bison return to action Tuesday, Sept. 22, when Northwestern Oklahoma State visits Shawnee. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Noble Complex.
