Football Looks to Bounce Back at Northwestern Oklahoma State

SHAWNEE – After suffering a difficult road loss at Henderson State last week, Oklahoma Baptist football will look to rebound when it travels to Alva to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Ranger Field. 

The Bison (1-1, 1-1 GAC) suffered a number of miscues last week that led to a 66-9 defeat at the hands of the Reddies, while the Rangers (0-2, 0-2 GAC) nearly pulled off an upset of Arkansas Tech, 34-29, in their ast outing.

OBU has won six of the last seven meetings and holds a 7-3 advantage in the all-time series against the Rangers. Despite last week's setback, the Bison got standout performances against Henderson State from wideout Jacob Trimble and defensive Richard Smith.

Trimble finished with five receptions for 108 yards, including catches of 43, 37, and 20 yards. He also added a 39-yard kickoff return and leads the Bison with 234 all-purpose yards. Smith had nine tackles against HSU, including one tackle-for-loss, and leads the OBU defense in tackles (16), TFL (2.0), and sacks (1.0).
