DARDANELLE, AR – After another stellar week, Oklahoma Baptist volleyball's
Rylee Unruh has been named as the GAC Offensive Player of the Week, the Great American Conference office announced on Monday, Sept. 14.
It is the second-straight week that Unruh has earned the honor, becoming the first Bison to win two-straight weekly GAC honors since Malia Leatherland accomplished the feat in the spring of 2021.
Last week, Unruh tallied 64 kills, 51 digs, eight aces, and six blocks as the Bison went 2-2 with wins over Southeastern Oklahoma State (Sept. 8) and Fort Hays State (Sept. 10). She had three kill-dig double-doubles, including 20 kills and 23 digs against Pittsburg State (Sept. 10).
She also reached an incredible career milestone by tallying her 1,000 career kill against Fort Hays State. After getting her 1,000th career dig two weeks ago, she is just the 95th player since 2022 to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs at the Division II level.
Unruh leads NCAA Division II in total service aces (32) while ranking third nationally in total attacks (543) and fifth in total kills (179). She also ranks second in the GAC in kills and points per set.
Oklahoma Baptist returns to action at Southwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday, Sept. 15 before hosting Southern Nazarene on Thursday, Sept. 17.
