Emily Hellmuth Joins Volleyball Coaching Staff

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist head volleyball coach Anna Howle has announced the addition of Emily Hellmuth as an assistant coach for the 2026 season.

Hellmuth comes to Bison Hill after completing an impressive Division I playing career. As a senior in 2025, she recorded 316 kills and helped lead Texas A&M to the program's first NCAA national championship. During her two seasons (2024 & 2025) with the Aggies, Hellmuth totaled 646 kills and 98 blocks as Texas A&M posted a 50-12 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in both seasons.

Hellmuth spent her first two indoor collegiate seasons (2022 & 2023) at Pepperdine, where she earned West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year honors and helped the Waves reach the NCAA Tournament twice.

She also competed in beach volleyball at LSU during the 2026 season, appearing in 29 matches and helping the Tigers qualify for the MPSF Championships.

Hellmuth finished her indoor collegiate career with 1,119 kills, 297 digs and 203 blocks. She appeared in 118 matches and played 422 sets across four seasons.

She earned her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M in 2025 and is currently pursuing a master's degree.

An All-American at Highland Park High School, Hellmuth also earned multiple All-State and All-Region honors during her prep career in Dallas, TX. She is the younger sister of former Bison volleyball standout Avery Hellmuth, who currently serves as OBU's Assistant AD for Compliance and Student-Athlete Development.
