Bison Complete The Sweet In Alva

ALVA, Okla. — Oklahoma Baptist relied on late‑inning offense and dominant relief pitching to sweep Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon at the Northwestern Softball Field, earning a 6–3 comeback win in Game 1 and holding on for a 9–7 victory in Game 2. The Bison improved to 33–6 on the season.

Game 2 — Oklahoma Baptist 6, Northwestern Oklahoma State 3
After falling behind by three runs in the fourth inning, the Bison erupted for six runs over the final two frames. Northwestern struck first in the fourth with RBI groundouts from Natalie Ackenhausen and Kaylee Madden before Kaitlyn Corn doubled home another run for a 3–0 lead.

OBU broke through in the sixth. Abby Laskowski drew a walk which brought in Ivy Walker to pinch run who stole second. With the bases loaded, Kaley Cook laced a three‑run triple down the right‑field line to tie the game. An inning later, Greenlee Wells and Katelyn Kilgore opened the frame with hits before Haley Hacker drove in two runs with a single. Keirstin Briggs followed with an RBI single to give the Bison a 6–3 cushion.

Naomi Redman earned the win with three shutout innings in relief, striking out five, while Jaycee Shaffer bridged the middle innings.

Game 3 — Oklahoma Baptist 9, Northwestern Oklahoma State 7
Northwestern jumped out to a five‑run first inning behind a combination of walks, errors, and RBI hits from Makanalei Lapera and Kaylee Madden. OBU answered with a sacrifice fly from Abby Laskowski but trailed 5–1 early.

The Bison closed the gap in the third as Greenlee Wells reached base and Nichelle Marshall singled before Haley Hacker powered a three‑run homer to right field. After the Rangers extended the lead to 7–4 in the fifth, OBU mounted its final rally in the sixth. Ally Ryan smashed a two‑run homer, Jessi Hull followed with an RBI single, and Marshall capped the scoring with a two‑run double to give the Bison the lead for good.

Redman once again steadied the game in the circle, throwing 6.2 innings of relief to earn her third win of the season.

The Bison return home next Friday and Saturday for their last home series. They take on Harding at 6 pm on Friday and a doubleheader beginning at 12 on Saturday.
