Morris, Bison Walk Off Arkansas Tech

SHAWNEE -- Oklahoma Baptist walked it off in dramatic fashion on Saturday, edging Arkansas Tech 4-3 at Bobby Cox Field behind a clutch ninth-inning rally.

The Bison (19-21, 12-16 GAC) overcame an early 1-0 deficit with a two-run opening frame, capitalizing on four hits. Lucas Schaefer delivered an RBI double to tie the game before Ben Green followed with a run-scoring single to give Oklahoma Baptist a 2-1 advantage.

Arkansas Tech (25-19, 19-9 GAC) answered early and stayed within striking distance throughout. The Wonder Boys plated a run in the first on Tyler Sardelli's RBI double and kept pressure on Bison starter Teagon Standlee, who worked through eight innings while allowing three runs on eight hits.

For Standlee, he kept the visitors scoreless from the second through eighth frames. He ended up tossing a season-high 8.0 innings while fanning five.

After a quiet middle stretch, Oklahoma Baptist added an insurance run in the seventh. A sacrifice fly from Schaefer brought home Matt Marsic, extending the lead to 3-1.

Arkansas Tech mounted its biggest threat in the ninth. With two on and two outs, Derek Rockett came through with a two-run single to right, tying the game at 3-3 and shifting momentum to the visitors.

The Bison, however, responded immediately in the bottom half. Ben Green ignited the rally with a double down the left-field line, and after a walk, Keenan Morris delivered the decisive blow—a walk-off RBI single to center that scored Green and secured the 4-3 result.

Green led the Bison offense with three hits and an RBI, while Morris added two hits including the game-winner. Schaefer drove in two runs.

Logan Wade earned the win in relief, tossing a scoreless ninth. Eric Woodley took the loss for Arkansas Tech.

Oklahoma Baptist finished with 13 hits in the back-and-forth contest. Tomorrow, the two teams meet at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader.
