SHAWNEE, Okla. — Oklahoma Baptist closed the series with a statement Sunday, riding
Ally Ryan's fifth‑inning grand slam and a complete outing from
Jaycee Kelln to a 10–2 victory over East Central at the OBU Softball Complex. The win moves the Bison to 21–2 on the season.
After a scoreless first, OBU manufactured two in the second.
Kiley Long reached and
Jaycee Kelln beat out a fielder's choice before swiping second. With two on,
Greenlee Wells drove in the game's first run on a single through the right side, and
Kaley Cook followed with an RBI knock to left for a 2–0 lead.
The Bison doubled the margin in the third.
Nichelle Marshall singled,
Haley Hacker ripped a double to the left‑center gap, and Long lifted a sacrifice fly to score Marshall. Moments later, a passed ball brought Hacker home to make it 4–0. Ryan added insurance in the fourth with a solo homer to left, pushing the cushion to 5–0.
After ECU cut the deficit to 5–2 in the fifth, OBU answered emphatically. Long walked and advanced on a sacrifice from Kelln,
Abby Laskowski drew a free pass, Wells worked another walk, and Cook was hit by a pitch to force in a run. With the bases still loaded, Ryan turned on a 1–0 pitch and launched a grand slam to center, sealing the 10–2 final.
Kelln handled all five innings in the circle, allowing just two hits and two runs with six strikeouts against one walk to improve to 8–1.
