Bison Split With Cameron

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Oklahoma Baptist opened Wednesday's twin bill with an 11–9 comeback win before falling 20–8 in a wild nightcap against Cameron at the OBU Softball Complex. The Bison moved to 22–3 overall behind a huge day from Greenlee Wells, timely hitting from Ally Ryan, and resilient innings across both contests.

GAME 1 — Oklahoma Baptist 11, Cameron 9
OBU struck first with two in the opening frame as Kaley Cook singled and stole second, Alexah Reyes reached on a bunt, and Greenlee Wells lifted a sacrifice fly before Ally Ryan added an RBI groundout. After Cameron tied it with a two‑run homer in the third, the Bison erupted for a five‑run inning. Wells walked, Ryan and Nichelle Marshall singled, and Haley Hacker drew a bases‑loaded walk. A wild pitch scored Ryan, Kiley Long reached on an error, and Katelyn Kilgore added an RBI groundout before Cook delivered a two‑run double.
Cameron fought back with five in the fourth to even the score, but OBU answered immediately. Kilgore singled, Cook reached, and Reyes singled to load the bases. Wells worked a bases‑loaded walk to push the Bison ahead before Ryan ripped a two‑RBI single up the middle. Hacker added another run with a bases‑loaded walk, completing the 11‑run output.
Jaycee Shaffer threw a complete game with eight strikeouts, earning her 13th win. Cook finished 2-for-4 with three RBI, Ryan drove in three, and Wells scored twice with two RBIs.

GAME 2 — Cameron 20, Oklahoma Baptist 8
Cameron opened the nightcap with a six‑run first and eight more in the second, taking control early. OBU's first‑inning four‑run response included singles from Cook, Ryan, and Marshall, plus a two‑RBI single from Jessi Hull.
OBU mounted a surge in the fourth when Hull doubled, Kaylee Davis singled, and Wells crushed a grand slam to center to pull within 18–8. Marshall and Payton Bragg followed with singles to continue the push, but Cameron added two more in the fifth and held the Bison quiet the rest of the way.
Wells finished the game with four RBI, Hull had three hits, and Davis and Marshall added multi‑hit efforts. Cook and Reyes each reached three times at the top of the order.

Bison take on the Henderson State Reddies this Friday at 6 pm and on Saturday at 12 & 2 pm.
