DENTON, Texas — Oklahoma Baptist opened Wednesday's doubleheader with a 10–6 win behind a six‑run sixth and a steady start from
Jaycee Kelln, before Texas Woman's answered with a 20–4 (5 inn.) victory in the nightcap at Dianne Baker Field.
Game 1 — Oklahoma Baptist 10, Texas Woman's 6
Scoreless through three, OBU broke through in the fourth when
Alexah Reyes was hit by a pitch and stole second, then
Nichelle Marshall lined an RBI double and
Haley Hacker followed with a game‑tying RBI single. The Bison added one in the fifth—
Ivy Walker ran for
Abby Laskowski,
Kaylee Davis bunted for a hit, and Reyes' fielder's choice chased home Walker—tying it at 3–3.
OBU put it away with a six‑run sixth. Hacker singled,
Jessi Hull doubled down the line, and after a walk to Davis,
Kaley Cook punched a two‑RBI single and took second on the throw. Reyes smoked an RBI double,
Greenlee Wells added an RBI single and a stolen base, and Marshall capped the outburst with an RBI single as the Bison surged to 9–3.
Kiley Long tacked on an RBI single in the seventh for the 10th run. Kelln earned the win with 6.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R (1 ER), 9 K;
Jaycee Shaffer closed the seventh to finish it.
Game 2 — Texas Woman's 20, Oklahoma Baptist 4 (5 inn.)
The Pioneers seized control immediately with nine in the first and never looked back, piling up 20 runs across four frames. TWU's middle provided extra‑base pop—Trinity Perry and Malarie Medina doubled in the first‑inning outburst, and Riley Todd delivered a grand slam in the third. Hawwa Townsend added multiple RBI knocks as the Pioneers totaled 12 hits and 18 RBIs. Caydance Gaddis earned the win.
OBU's scoring came in the second and third. In the second,
Nichelle Marshall was hit by a pitch, Hacker walked, Laskowski walked, and Cook singled to center to plate two. In the third, Reyes walked, Marshall walked, and Hacker ripped a two‑run double to center. Hacker finished 2‑for‑2 with three RBIs across the game; Cook and Reyes reached and Cook added a steal. TWU closed it with the run rule after five.
