Wells, Marshall Power Bison To Win

EDMOND, Okla. — Oklahoma Baptist erupted for 10 runs over the final three innings to roll past Black Hills State 10–2 Saturday afternoon at the Lawson Softball Complex.

After three scoreless frames, the Bison broke through in the fourth and never looked back, scoring three in the fourth, three in the fifth, and four in the sixth to put the game out of reach.

OBU's offense was sparked by a power surge in the fourth. After Alexah Reyes reached and moved into scoring position, Ally Ryan launched a two-run homer to left to open the scoring, and Nichelle Marshall followed with a solo shot to make it 3–0.

Black Hills State trimmed the gap with a two-run fifth, but Oklahoma Baptist answered immediately in the bottom half. Reyes worked another free pass and scored again on Greenlee Wells' RBI single before Marshall struck again with a two-run homer to push the lead to 6–2.

The Bison blew it open in the sixth. Haley Hacker and Jessi Hull reached base to start the frame, setting the table for Wells, who delivered a two-run single up the middle. Marshall later added an RBI single to cap the four-run inning and extend the advantage to 10–2.

In the circle, Jaycee Kelln went the distance, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out seven to earn the win.

Marshall led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI, while Wells finished 2-for-4 with three RBI. Reyes reached base multiple times, drawing three walks and stealing three bases, as the Bison finished with 10 hits on the day.

They take on undefeated #25 Oklahoma Christian next at 3:30 pm.
