RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Baptist Bison defeated the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys in a thrilling 66–64 overtime victory on Saturday, Feb. 7, pushing their GAC record to 13-2 (19-2 on the season). It was the tenth straight win for the Bison.
Arkansas Tech came out aggressively, jumping out to a 16–8 lead with 11:50 remaining in the first half. Oklahoma Baptist answered with a run of its own, pulling within one point after a
Jackson Greene second-chance layup made it 22–21. The Wonder Boys carried a 30–24 advantage into halftime, led by Connor Davis, who scored 12 points and knocked down two 3-pointers.
The Wonder Boys opened the second half with four quick points from Aiden Underdown, extending their lead to 10. The Bison stayed composed and eventually surged ahead 48–44 following a
Christian Hodge fast-break dunk and a pair of free throws from Greene. O
BU continued to apply pressure, stretching its lead to 58–48 with 2:44 remaining in regulation.
Arkansas Tech refused to go quietly, closing the game on a 10–0 run to tie the score at 58–58 and force overtime. Included in that run was several missed free throws by OBU down the stretch.
Oklahoma Baptist struck first in the extra period with a three-pointer, but Arkansas Tech responded with two triples to take a 64–61 lead. The Bison answered with clutch free throws from
Terry Coner Jr. and a decisive layup by
Erik Madrid, sealing the 66–64 overtime win.
Terry Coner Jr. led the Bison with 23 points, four rebounds, and six assists, while
Joshua Udoumoh added 20 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in the victory.
