Boyer Named GAC Setter of the Week Yet Again

RUSSELLVILLE, AR – After helping Oklahoma Baptist volleyball clinch the top seed in next week's Great American Conference Tournament, senior Emily Boyer has been named as the GAC Setter of the Week for the fourth time this year.

Boyer helped lead the Bison to a pair of 3-1 victories over Southern Nazarene (Oct. 27) and Southwestern Oklahoma State (Oct. 29) last week. She finished with 56 assists, 19 digs, two aces, and two kills in the win at SNU. Boyer's 56 assists in the match fell just one shy of her school record of 57 in a four-set match.

She followed up that performance with 47 assists, 10 digs, two aces, and a kill against SWOSU to help OBU secure the top seed in the GAC Tournament and earn at least a share of the program's fifth GAC regular-season title in the past seven seasons.

Her Setter of the Week award gives the Bison a total of eighth GAC weekly awards this season, the most since the 2021 campaign when Oklahoma Baptist also earned eight weekly awards. This season, Boyer ranks 20th nationally in total assists (902) and 32nd in assists per set (9.91). Boyer also ranks 11th among active Division II players in assists (3,233) and aces (153).

Boyer and the Bison close out the season this week with matches against Northwestern Oklahoma State (Nov. 3) and East Central (Nov. 5). OBU will square off against the eight seed in the first round of the GAC Tournament at 3 p.m. next Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Stride Bank Center in Enid.
