SHAWNEE -- Oklahoma Baptist put together a complete performance Thursday, rolling past Southern Arkansas 76–55 at the Noble Complex to improve to 16–2 overall and 10–2 in Great American Conference play.
The Bison wasted little time setting the tone, shooting over 50 percent in the first half and building a 42–25 advantage at the break. Oklahoma Baptist controlled the paint early and often, scoring 40 points inside while forcing Southern Arkansas into tough perimeter looks. The Muleriders struggled from beyond the arc, finishing just 4-of-20 from three-point range.
Joshua Udoumoh led all scorers with 24 points, attacking the basket consistently and adding four rebounds and four assists.
Terry Coner Jr. followed with 21 points, knocking down four 3-pointers and converting five free throws, while
Erik Madrid was active on both ends with eight points, eight rebounds and three blocks. The Bison finished the night shooting 49.2 percent from the floor and out-rebounded Southern Arkansas 38–35.
Southern Arkansas was paced by Roderick Williams Jr., who also scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Jair Horton added 13 points, but the Muleriders were unable to generate sustained offense as Oklahoma Baptist's defense forced 19 turnovers and converted them into 18 points.
Oklahoma Baptist maintained control throughout the second half, extending its lead to as many as 21 points while mixing defensive pressure with efficient ball movement.
The Bison recorded 17 assists on 29 made field goals and added 14 fast-break points to keep momentum firmly on their side.
With the win, Oklahoma Baptist continues to strengthen its position near the top of the GAC standings as conference play moves deeper into the schedule.
