SHAWNEE – The 12-2 and second place Oklahoma Baptist men's basketball team is heading to Arkadelphia, Ark., on Jan. 15 and 17 to face (RV) Ouachita and Henderson State.
Coach
Jason Eaker's squad is two games back (6-2) of Ouachita (12-2, 8-0 GAC), the lone undefeated Great American Conference squad. The matchup with the Tigers comes at 7:30 p.m. inside Bill Vining Arena. As for Henderson, the Reddies are 8-6 overall and 5-3 in the league. That game on Saturday starts at 3 p.m.

Bison Notes
- OBU downed Arkansas Tech and Harding last week to improve to 12-2.
- Terry Coner Jr. earned GAC Player of the Week honors. He tallied 58 points in the games, the second-best, two-game scoring output in OBU's D2 history.
- Coner Jr. is the second-leading scorer in the GAC at 19.9 points per game.
- The Bison's offense has been very good this winter. They lead the GAC in scoring (81.8) and rank second in field-goal percentage (47.6).
- They are also great rebounders. OBU ranks top four in the GAC in team rebounds (39.0), offensive rebounds (13.9) and defensive boards (25.1).
- Erik Madrid leads the GAC with a 72.9 field-goal percentage. That would stand as the top D2 mark if he made 5.0 shots per game. The sophomore is currently making 4.42 shots per contest.
- As has been mentioned before, this OBU squad values they ball. They rank No. 12 nationally and second in the league committing just 10.4 turnovers per game.
- Historically, the Bison are 2-7 playing at Ouachita and 3-6 at HSU.
Tigers Notes
- Defense has been the story for Ouachita. They are the national leaders in scoring defense (58.8) and three-point field goal percentage defense (25.8).
- They also rank second nationally in field-goal percentage defense (36.9).
- It should be noted, Ouachita played NCCAA schools Dallas Christian, Ecclesia and Champion Christian back in November.
- The Tigers are No. 1 in the GAC and 19th in the country in fastbreak points (17.5).
- Individually, Christian Parks is eighth in D2 with 38 blocks and 14th in offensive rebounds per game (3.79).
- Leading the scoring front is Devon Hancock whose 17.0 points per game is slotted third in the conference.
- Plus, Jaxon Conley's 85.7 free-throw percentage is third in the GAC.
Reddies Notes
- HSU has won three of four after a 70-61 road win at Northwestern.
- They rank third in the GAC with a 77.1 scoring average. Henderson also checks in at No. 1 in field-goal percentage (48.6).
- The Reddies have taken the fewest three-point shots in the GAC at 210 attempts. They also make 30 percent, the ninth-rated mark in the league.
- Zaveion Okoh is the offensive leader for the Reddies. He scores 16.8 points per game, the fourth-best mark in the conference.
- Tyson Whybrew is a top-10 rebounder (6.1) while Jabari West is slotted fifth in field-goal percentage (61.3). Whybrew is also fifth with 1.1 blocks per game.
- Okoh is tied with Coner Jr. and Jakob Zenon (UAM) for most points scored in a game by a GAC player this year; 36 versus Arkansas Fort Smith on Nov. 26, 2025.
