CANYON, Texas – Oklahoma Baptist volleyball had a standout performance on Friday morning, sweeping Colorado State University Pueblo in their season opener at the BritKare Lady Buff Classic.
The Bison led the match with 44 kills, with five different players recording at least six for OBU.
Rylee Unruh led with nine kills, three aces and nine digs while
Lauren Safrit contributed eight kills on a .261 hitting percentage. Newcomer
Lillian Noble added seven kills and two blocks with an impressive .538 hitting percentage as well.

Allie Stricker and
Mackenzie Frazee combined for 13 kills while setter
Emily Boyer recorded 17 assists and 10 digs. Plus, freshman
Madi Barnes chipped in with 14 assists and an ace.
Defensively, the Bison matched the Thunder Wolves with 44 digs and out-blocked them 10-7.
Not only did the Bison lead with a .239 hitting percentage, they also led in kills, assists, blocks, and aces.
Set One (25-18): OBU jumped out early by scoring the first trio of points, and later built a 15-10 advantage following a CSU Pueblo error. The Bison had multiple leads of at least four points in the opening stanza.
Set Two (28-26): After 12 ties, six lead changes and the help of back-to-back kills from Noble and Stricker, the Bison were able to pull through with the set win.
Set Three (25-18): With the Bison's strongest hitting set, they led with 18 kills and an impressive .472 hitting percentage, leading to victory.
