Bison Get Tripped Up at East Central

ADA – East Central pulled away in the second half to hand No. 23 (NABC) Oklahoma Baptist a 91–76 loss Thursday in Great American Conference play at the Kerr Activities Center.

The contest was tightly contested early, featuring seven ties and nine lead changes in the first half. OBU trailed by just three points at the break, 36–33, after Jackson Greene provided a steady scoring presence in the paint. Greene scored 12 first-half points and helped the Bison stay within striking distance despite early foul trouble and cold perimeter shooting.

Momentum shifted decisively after halftime as East Central caught fire offensively. The Tigers shot an impressive 71.4 percent from the floor in the second half and knocked down seven 3-pointers over the final 20 minutes.

Rustin Coffey spearheaded the surge, finishing with a game-high 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including five 3-pointers. Jaden Miller complemented him with 17 points and a career-high 14 assists, repeatedly finding open teammates during ECU's extended runs.

Oklahoma Baptist attempted to answer with strong interior play. Greene finished with a team-high 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting, while Joshua Udoumoh added 14 points and five rebounds.

The Bison also held an edge in points in the paint, but struggled to convert at the free-throw line, shooting just 62.1 percent, and connected on only 4-of-18 attempts from beyond the arc.

A pivotal stretch midway through the second half saw the hosts string together a 17–5 run, fueled by three consecutive three-pointers and a series of Bison turnovers. The Tigers capitalized at the line as well, finishing 26-of-31 from the stripe.

OBU will now break for Christmas and return on Jan. 3, 2026 at home against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
