SHAWNEE -- The Oklahoma Baptist Bison women's hoops team will close 2025 at East Central on Thursday, with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m. at Kerr Activities Center.
OBU is 6-4 this winter and 2-2 in Great American Conference play. As for the Tigers, they are 5-3 and 1-3 in the GAC.
The Bison have won five of the last six in the series while ECU leads the all-time D2 matchups 14-8. Todd Miller and Dave Myrick will have the call of the game on KGFF. Below are notes on both squads.
Bison Notes
- OBU is coming off a 73-60 victory against Southeastern last Saturday.
- Jaedyn Getman scored 19 with 12 rebounds while Reagan Fox came off the bench and tallied 17 points in 22 minutes of action.
- Five of Fox's makes were from downtown.
- As a team, the Bison make 8.5 threes per game, the No. 20 mark in the nation and second in the GAC.
- OBU is also eighth in the nation with an 80.4 free throw percentage.
- Getman is playing as well as anyone in the conference right now. She is the GAC leader in six categories including scoring (22.0) and double-doubles (4).
- Plus, the 6-foot-2 senior forward is also the league leader in three-point percentage (48.8) and field goals (75).
- Lastly, Bo Overton's squad continues to value the ball. They rank sixth in the country averaging 12.3 turnovers per game.
Tigers Notes
- ECU has lost three of four after a 74-56 loss at Northwestern on Dec. 13.
- The Tigers have two things going for them: they are second in the GAC in scoring defense (58.6) and fifth in free throws made per game (13.5).
- Evan Fernandez does a good job on offense. She is fourth in the conference in assists per game (3.8) and free throw percentage (88.9).
- Jayden Weiberg's 14 three-pointers are a top-10 GAC mark.
- Offensively, East Central has had some struggles. It ranks 10th in the GAC in field goal percentage (38.8) and 11th in total rebounds per game (34.13).
- Of note, ECU has not lost at home so far this season (3-0).
