OBU Women to Square Off Versus Comets

SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist women's basketball team will head to UT-Dallas on Nov. 22 for a 2 p.m. non-conference contest. This will be the second all-time meeting between the two schools. Last November, the Bison won 80-70.

Todd Miller and Dave Myrick will be on site for the call of the game starting at 1:30 on KGFF.

Starting 5 Storylines
Road Test in Texas: Oklahoma Baptist (2-1) heads south to face UT Dallas, its first true road game of the year.

Last Time Out: The Bison enter off a 93-85 win over Eastern New Mexico on Nov. 18. OBU was fueled by a 30-point third quarter and 12 made three-pointers.

Bison Breakdown: Senior forward Jaedyn Getman has been dominant, averaging 31.7 points and 9.0 rebounds through three games, including a 45-point outing vs. Northeastern State on Nov. 14. That was the third-highest scoring total in program history. Guard Parker Stevenson adds perimeter punch, having hit six of her last 11 from deep. Stevenson is also averaging 13.7 points per game.

Also of note, freshman Jordyn Anderson, who has averaged 30.0 minute of playing time is third on the team with a 10.7 scoring average. She's also second with 11 assists.

Free Throw Dominance: Like past years, OBU is an outstanding free throw shooting team. Their 89.4 mark so far is the national-high in D2 women's basketball. Getman is a perfect 26-for-26 too, also tops in the country.

Historic Offensive Night: OBU's 93 points against Eastern New Mexico marked just the 14th time in the NCAA Division II era (since 2015-16) that the Bison have scored 90 or more points in a win.

Comet Snapshot: UT Dallas (0-2) opened with competitive losses to UCCS (88-83) and Colorado Mines (67-56). The Comets lean on guard play, led by Umi Otsuka (26 points, 6 assists vs. UCCS) and sharpshooter Anna Yellen, who hit six 3s in the opener.

Turnover Trouble: The Comets have committed 37 turnovers so far, an 18.5 per-game average.

What's Next: After UT Dallas, OBU heads to San Antonio to face Texas A&M-Kingsville and St. Mary's on Nov. 28-29.
