Ouachita Slips by Bison

SHAWNEE -- Ouachita picked up a 1-0 result over Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday at the OBU Soccer Complex. The Tigers improved to 3–4–2 overall and 2–0–1 in Great American Conference play, while the Bison fell to 1–6–3 and 1–3–0 in the league.

After a defensive first half that saw limited scoring chances for either side, Ouachita broke through in the 82nd minute. Midfielder Ava Dunagan netted the game's lone goal off an assist from Tracey Smith, finishing from close range to put the Tigers ahead for good. The goal marked Dunagan's first of the season.

The Tigers made the most of their five total shots, two of which were on target. Dunagan and Madi Vana each recorded a shot on goal, while Lennon Porter, Selah Havens, and Vana also contributed offensively. Ouachita's midfield controlled possession in the second half, generating seven corner kicks to Oklahoma Baptist's two.

Defensively, Taylor Hapgood earned the clean sheet in goal, collecting two saves over 90 minutes. The Tigers' back line, anchored by Isabella Savattere and Sahara Adams, limited the Bison to just two shots on goal despite ten total attempts.

Oklahoma Baptist's best looks came from Sam Sheffield and Tiare Hermosilla, who each forced saves from Hapgood. Goalkeeper Jalen Cramer recorded one save while facing steady second-half pressure.

The Bison return to action on Oct. 11 with a visit to East Central.
