Postgame Recap: Oklahoma Baptist vs. East Central – October 18, 2025
ADA – East Central (4-2) rallied from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit and scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime to outlast Oklahoma Baptist (2-4) 37-31 on Saturday afternoon at Koi Ishto Stadium.
The Tigers capped the comeback with a 2-yard touchdown run by quarterback Sergio Kennedy in overtime, completing a 25-yard drive after East Central's defense held the Bison scoreless on their possession.
Oklahoma Baptist built a 31-21 lead early in the fourth quarter behind a balanced offensive attack. Quarterback Chad Mascoe threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns—one to Nick Harris and another to Caden Peevey. Harris led the receiving corps with 7 catches for 86 yards, while Peevey added 27 yards on 3 receptions.
Running back Deuce Wise paced the ground game with 112 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, including a 54-yard burst. Mascoe added 28 rushing yards on 16 attempts.
East Central clawed back with two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including Kennedy's second rushing score of the day—a 2-yard run with just over a minute left in regulation to tie the game at 31-31. The Tigers then sealed the win in overtime with Kennedy's third rushing touchdown of the game.
Despite the loss, the Bison outgained ECU 492-422 in total offense and dominated time of possession, holding the ball for over 34 minutes. OBU also converted 8-of-19 third downs and 3-of-4 fourth-down attempts. The Bison also created an opportunity to win the game at the end of regulation with a field goal attempt from Carter Lowry, but the attempt sailed wide right. Lowry finished the day 3-4 including a program record 53 yarder in the first quarter.
Defensively, Caden Pickens led the Bison with 15 tackles, while Keebler Wagoner added 11 and Amajah Lewis chipped in nine. Jahden Brown and Ke'Shawn Ford each recorded a sack.
For East Central, Kennedy threw for 195 yards and rushed for three touchdowns. Quincy Thompson added 144 rushing yards and two scores, while Cade Searcy contributed 92 yards on the ground. Kaden Jones led the Tigers with 84 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Oklahoma Baptist returns home next Saturday to host Southeastern Oklahoma State for Homecoming inside Crain Family Stadium at 6 pm.
