Road Date with ECU Set for Bison Soccer

SHAWNEE -- The Oklahoma Baptist women's soccer team travels to East Central for a Great American Conference matchup on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. 
 
OBU enters the contest with a record of 1-6-3 (1-3 GAC), while East Central stands at 0-8-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play. The Bison are coming off a narrow 1-0 loss to Ouachita, while ECU fell 3-0 to Northwestern Oklahoma State. 
 
This series has been dominated by the Bison, who hold a 15-2-5 record against East Central since 2014. OBU is unbeaten in the last 10 matchups (7-0-3), with the most recent meeting on Oct. 30, 2024, ending in a scoreless draw in Ada. 
 
Bison Notes 
- OBU fell 1-0 to Ouachita despite outshooting the Tigers 10-5 and earning three corner kicks. 
- Lex Williamson leads the team with three goals, including a game-winner against Harding on Oct. 1. She ranks in the top eight in the GAC in goals scored.
- Sam Sheffield, Hali White and Addison Gray continue to be key offensive players, having attempted at least 12 shots.
- Sheffield has a team-high 20 shots this season.
- Defenders Maya Thornburg and Ashley Bell anchor a back line that has held opponents to one goal or fewer in four matches. 
- OBU has outscored ECU 51-22 across 22 matches, averaging 2.32 goals per game. 
 
Tigers Notes
- ECU fell 3-0 to Northwestern Oklahoma State in its last outing. 
- Goalkeeper Madison Mayhall recorded seven saves in the loss. 
- ECU has scored just five goals across nine matches this fall. 
- Ximena Resendiz, Avery Spadoni and Reece Roberson have shown the ability to create chances in the final third. They have 15 combined shots on goal for ECU.
- ECU is still searching for its first win of the season and will look to defend home turf.
