SHAWNEE – The green and gold continue their run in Arkansas with a Saturday afternoon game against Harding at 1 p.m.
Bison Women's Basketball will take on the top dog in GAC basketball, Harding. OBU sits in second place in conference so Saturday afternoon will be one of the top GAC contests.
Bison Notes
- OBU WBB is 6-1 in conference play after taking down Arkansas Tech on the road Thursday afternoon. The win over the Golden Suns saw the Bison hit double-digit wins overall at 10-3.
- In the most recent meeting for the green and gold, Katelyn Davis had a night, leading the visitors with 16 points, shooting 6-13 from the field, 3-7 from the three and a perfect 1-1 from the line. Sierra Copeland and Jill Leslie were key players for the OBU defense with Copeland totaling 10 rebounds and three steals. Leslie added two blocks and three rebounds for the Bison. Freshman, Allie Rehl, earned a new career high with 11 points on the evening.
- Team leaders for OBU include Mackenzie Cruose, Copeland, Davis, Payten Conde and Leslie.
- Cruose leads the scoring efforts for OBU, averaging 16.5 points per game to total 214 on the season. Crusoe also leads the team in assists (48), steals (26) and is a major contributor in rebounds with 62 on the season, the second most among the team.
- Copeland leads the Bison with 15 blocks, 73 rebounds, and the second most steals at 21.
- Davis is sitting at 47.7% from the field, 37.7% from the three and a perfect 19-19 from the line, totaling 121 points to average 9.3 per game. The freshman has also added nine steals and three blocks for OBU.
- Conde has totaled 16 steals for the bison, six blocks, 46 rebounds, and 28 assists. The sophomore is shooting 42.2% from the field, 41.2% from the three and 13-15 from the line.
- Leslie has tallied 10 blocks and 43 rebounds. Leslie is also shooting 48.7% from the field, averaging five points per game.
- The Bison lead the league in threes made with 124 on the season to average 9.5 per game. OBU is second in team free throw percentage at 82.9% and third in blocked shots averaging 4.00 per game and third in assists per game at 13.69. The green and gold are also fifth in team three-point percentage at 32.3%.
Harding Notes
- Harding holds first place in conference play with a perfect 7-0 record and an 11-2 record overall. The most recent win for Harding came in the form of a 67-63 win over Southern Nazarene Thursday afternoon.
- The win over SNU saw Harding go 22-54 from the field, 2-5 from the three and 21-23 from the line. The black and gold tallied seven steals and three blocks.
- Sage Haley leads the efforts for Harding with 243 points, averaging 18.7 points per game, second highest average in the league. Hawley also leads the team in rebounds (133) ranking first in the GAC, blocks (18) ranking third in the league in blocked shots per game and field goal percentage at 54.2%, going 104-192 for the third best percentage in the league.
- Aubrey Isbell leads Harding with 15 steals while Rory Greer and Josie Williams sit at 14 steals a-piece. Williams leads in assists with 42 and is the biggest three from the three, shooting 33.3% at 16-48. Greer is another big rebounder for Harding with 103, the second most on the team. Isbell also holds the best free throw percentage for Harding at 93.8%, going 45-48 from the line.
- Harding's offense sits first in the league with 975 points on the season, averaging 75 per game. Harding is ranked second in combined team rebounds at 41.4 per game with a total of 538. The black and gold are also second in team offensive rebounds (13.8 per game) and team defensive rebounds (27.6 per game). Harding sits in third for team free throw percentage at 80.3% and third in team percentage from the field at 43.6%.
