Box Score 3 SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist Volleyball went 2-1 over the weekend sweeping Cameron University to start off the weekend. A tough five-set battle resulted in a loss to UT Tyler and another five-set match closed things out with a win over McKendree to secure Coach Howle's 400
th win as a head coach Saturday afternoon.

Anna Howle, has officially amassed 400 career wins for an overall record of 400-166 following the OBU Invitational.
Bison vs. Aggies
In the opening tournament appearance for the Bison over the weekend, OBU swept the Aggies of Cameron University with a 25-12 finish in set one. The green and gold took set two with a 25-11 total and the third set saw the Bison finish on top once again at 25-17 for a clean sweep.
In the match against the Aggies, OBU totaled 38 kills, seven aces, seven blocks, 37 digs, and 52.0 points.
Jh'Kyah Head and
Melody Donegan led the Bison with seven kills a-piece. Donegan compiled four aces while
Mackenzie Frazee and Head tallied two blocks each for the home team.
Bison vs. Patriots
In day one of the OBU Invitational, the nightcap saw the Bison go head-to-head with the Patriots of UT Tyler. The five-set battle ended in favor of the visitors but the green and gold didn't go down easy.
UT Tyler took the opening frame at 25-19. Oklahoma Baptist kicked things into gear in set two, securing the second stanza with a 26-24 final. The following set went to the Bison at 25-16. The fourth set went to the Patriots with a 25-18 total and a heartbreaking finish saw UT Tyler to 15 first with a 15-11 ending in the fifth set.
The green and gold defense compiled 10 blocks, 62 kills, 66 digs and 75.0 points.
Rylee Unruh led the Bison with 14 kills while Head tallied 12 for the Bison and
Jill Leslie contributed 10. Leslie and Head each amassed five blocks and
Avery Hellmuth secured a couple as well.
Emily Boyer totaled 49 assists.
Bison vs. Bearcats
Saturday afternoon saw McKendree on the slate for the Bison to close out tournament play. OBU took down the Bearcats after a five-set dual filled with fierce competition. The purple and gold took the first set at 25-23. The second and third set saw the Bison come alive with back-to-back set wins at 25-19. The Bearcats battled back in the fourth set, keeping the match alive with a 25-23 final. The green and gold sealed the deal in the fifth set with a 15-13 ending to close out tournament play and grant OBU Volleyball Head Coach,
Anna Howle, her 400
th career win.
In the battle against McKendree, the Bison compiled 72 kills, seven blocks, 59 assists, 92 digs and 81.0 points. Leslie earned a new career high in kills with 22 in the match against the Bearcats. Head contributed 16 kills for a new career high and
Allie Stricker tallied 13 kills for a new career high. Boyer tallied 54 assists. Unruh amassed 23 digs, Boyer came in second with 21 digs, each with new career highs in digs and
Karsyn Hunter compiled 20.
Next up, the green and gold will open up conference play Tuesday at home with a match against Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The evening meeting between the Storm and the Bison will take place at 7 p.m. in Noble Complex.
