GAME ONE
Following a scoreless first, UAM got in gear in the second. Early on, two strong hits to right field from Aidan Garrett and Parker Dorrance helped lead the way to a four-run inning. On top of those knocks, Cade Cancilla drove in two with a two-out single up the middle.
After the Bison were retired in order in the third, a few walks and hit-by-pitch allowed the Weevils to blow the game wide open. Roc Hawthorne's bases-loaded hit-by-pitch moved the score to 5-0 before a couple run-scoring singles from Cancilla and Chaz Poppy.
The hosts led 9-0 after three.
OBU's lone run of the contest came from catcher
Troy Shields. In the fourth, he blasted a shot to left field, his 20th homer of the year. That total is tied for the D2 lead.
