SHAWNEE – Top-seed and No. 7 Southern Nazarene (28-1) took things to another level during a 73-42 GAC Tournament win over eight-seed Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday at FireLake Arena.
The Bison ended their season with a 12-17 record.
SNU, which possessed the fifth-best scoring defense in the country, put the game away after the first half. In the opening quarters, the Storm held OBU to 3-of-25 shooting, a 12-percent mark.
That helped the Storm take a 32-10 advantage.
During the game, sophomore
Jaedyn Getman became the 26th player in OBU's 47-year history to reach 500 points for a season. She finished the game with eight points and six rebounds.
In addition to Getman,
Kennedy Large scored seven while
Jill Leslie added six points, five rebounds and two blocks. Plus, freshman
Aubrey Marjason came off the bench to score six.
It was the final game for fifth-year senior
Madison Chambers who scored five points with a rebound and assist.
