Bison Volleyball back on the road for pair of road matches against Arkansas Monticello and Southern Arkansas

SHAWNEE – OBU Volleyball will open up this week's action Thursday evening at Arkansas Monticello with a 6 p.m. start time. The green and gold will take on Southern Arkansas Friday afternoon at 4 p.m.

In the most recent week of conference play, the Bison went 2-0 against Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State with a pair of 3-1 wins in Noble Complex. 

Bison Notes

• OBU Volleyball is 10-9 overall and 4-3 in conference play. 
• Bison Volleyball is coming into the Thursday evening match on a 3-0 winning streak after a trio of home wins over NWOSU, Ouachita Baptist, and Henderson State. 
• In the match against the OBU Tigers, Emily Boyer surpassed the school record that she set previously this season with a new career and OBU Volleyball high of 57 assists in a single match.
• The green and gold are second in the GAC in digs per set at 17.95 with a total of 1,328 digs. OBU Volleyball is third in kills per set at 12.96 with a total of 959 kills. The Bison are fourth in assists per set, averaging 11.88. 
• Jill Leslie is eighth in the conference with a .307 hitting percentage. Boyer is second in the GAC in assists per set at 10.16 with a total of 711 assists. Boyer is fifth in service aces at 0.39 with 27 total aces on the season. Karsyn Hunter is seventh in the conference in digs per set at 4.23, totaling 313 digs. Leslie is ninth in the GAC in points per set at 3.49 totaling 258 points on the season.

Blossoms Notes

• Arkansas Monticello is headed into the evening match with an overall record of 4-13 and 0-7 in conference play. 
• The Blossoms are coming off a pair of road losses. NWOSU took down UAM 3-2 and SWOSU swept the green and black to close out the week.
• In the Preseason Coaches Poll, UAM was selected to finish last in 12^th place. The Blossoms are currently 12^th in the GAC, awaiting their first conference win of the season.
• UAM Head Coach, Arlicia Ortiz is in her first season with the Blossoms.

Mulerider Notes

• Southern Arkansas is 9-6 overall and 3-4 in conference play as of Thursday morning. 
• In the most recent week of action SAU dropped a pair of matches to SWOSU and NWOSU with 3-1 finals.
• The Muleriders were picked to finish seventh in the GAC in the Preseason Coaches Poll. SAU is currently eighth in conference play. 
• Southern Arkansas is sixth in the GAC in points per set at 15.74. The Muleriders are seventh in conference in assists, averaging 11.11 assists per set. SAU is second in the GAC in blocks per set at 2.25. The blue and yellow are sixth in the conference in digs per set at 17.00.
