SHAWNEE – A key, Great American Conference test is awaiting Oklahoma Baptist (7-6, 1-1 GAC) on Tuesday night when it visits Southern Nazarene (10-4, 2-1 GAC). First serve from the Sawyer Center is slated for 7 p.m.
OBU is riding an eight-match winning streak in the series against the Crimson Storm. The last time SNU won was on Nov. 7, 2019 in Bethany. Since joining D2, the Bison are 5-2 all-time at SNU and 14-4 overall.
Bison Notes
- OBU is coming off a sweep of East Central on Sept. 21 at the Noble Complex.
- In that match, the team hit a season-high .333 with 44 kills.
- Jill Leslie and Maci Langford are each slotted in second in the GAC in two categories: Leslie has a .340 attack percentage while Langford collects 4.69 digs per set.
- The Bison climbed in the NCAA rankings, 20 spots in fact, in assists. A week ago, they were 56th in the nation and now sit at No. 36. They average 12.16 per set.
- Leading that charge is sophomore Rylee Martin. She is seventh in the GAC with a 6.05 average. The Owasso, Okla., native has reached at least 20 assists in eight matches.
- Look out for senior outside hitter D'Erricka Frierson. After a week and a half away due to sickness, she came back last week against Northwestern and ECU and averaged 3.83 kills per set and hit .360.
- As has been mentioned before, the green and gold are a solid blocking team. They rank 41st in the country at 2.20 blocks per set.

- Most recently, the Storm swept Northwestern on Sept. 21 at home. They are unbeaten at the Sawyer Center so far this year (4-0).
- Head Coach Kevin Ingram's team is one of the best defensively in the country. SNU ranks 38th in digs per set (17.2) and fifth in team digs (946).
- Madeline Lynch heads that front with the 11th-best digs total in D2 (258).
- The Storm are also second in the GAC in opponent attack percentage at .156.
