RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Junior runner Sophia Strange was named the Great American Conference Runner of the Week for the second time this season following an outstanding showing at the Texas A&M Invitational last Friday.
Strange placed in the top 10 for a second straight meet after finishing ninth with a time of 17:56.6 in the 5k. At the event filled with Division I athletes, her efforts paced Oklahoma Baptist to a sixth-place overall finish.
She broke the 18-minute barrier for the third time in seven all-time races.
Strange and the Bison will return to the course in two weeks at the DBU Old Glory Gallup in Dallas, Texas.
