DALLAS, Texas – Eighth-ranked Dallas Baptist defeated Oklahoma Baptist 5-0 on Saturday night in a non-conference soccer match at Patriot Soccer Field.
DBU (3-0-1) controlled all facets of the match, out-shooting OBU 21-1 and holding an 11-0 corner-kick advantage.
The Bison (1-5) held up with the eighth-ranked team until the game's 33rd minute when Michelle Gonzalez scored off a pass from Taylor Tufts.
Gonzalez ended up with two goals on the night while Tufts tallied a trio of assists.
For OBU, its lone shot attempt came from newcomer
Avril Baccam in the 63rd minute. That shot, though, was stopped by Patriots' keeper Breanna Bowen. For the green and gold, senior keeper
Mia Pendleton registered six saves.
That match concluded non-conference action for Oklahoma Baptist, who played three, top-23 teams over the last two weeks. Next up is Great American Conference action starting on Sept. 20 versus Southern Nazarene. Match time is set for 6 p.m. at the OBU Soccer Complex.
