SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Oklahoma Baptist played against the St. Mary's Rattlers on Saturday. The Bison came out swinging, opening the game with a lead that they successfully maintained throughout. By the end of the 40 minutes, OBU won by an eleven-point margin, 67-56.

Jaedyn Getman once again led with a game-high 24 points, her teammates also contributed a great deal.
Madison Chambers tallied 14 points on an impressive 6-of-7 shooting clip. Plus, freshman
Payten Conde added a season-high nine, while
Faith Wright and
Parker Stevenson contributed six.

On this afternoon, only seven points were made through free throws, which meant the Bison made 26 field goals. Â That included eight from three-point range. By game's end, the team shot a season-high 53 percent from the field.

The contest started off strong for the Bison who made their first six shots. The last of those, a
Kennedy Large three-pointer, had the green and gold up 14-8. By the end of the first, OBU led 20-8.

In the second, OBU stumbled due to turnovers. They committed six miscues while making five shots. With that, the host Rattlers rallied to a 33-27 halftime deficit.

The third quarter showed the Bison regain their footing. Wright helped the cause with back-to-back three-pointers in the fifth minute to extend OBU's lead to 44-31. Â By the end of the third, the Bison had outscored St. Mary's 16-8 and took a 49-35 lead into the fourth.

Oklahoma Baptist finished strong in the fourth, allowing St. Mary's to break into the double-digit deficit just once. On a trio of occasions, the Bison led by 17 points. The first came from a Getman three-ball (63-46) and then two freebies from Stevenson (67-50). Intermixed with those shots were points from Large and Conde who had strong quarters.

Defensively, the Bison did a good job on that front holding the Rattlers to 38 percent shooting including 28 percent from three. In two quarters, OBU held St. Mary's to less than 10 points.

Great American Conference play is next for OBU. On Nov. 30 they will host Southwestern Oklahoma State at 5:30 p.m.
