Week 8 Preview: East Central

SHAWNEE – On Wednesday, the Bison (4-7-1, 3-2-2 GAC) have a rematch against the East Central Tigers (1-8-3, 1-2-3 GAC) in Great American Conference action at the OBU Soccer Complex. The Bison will look to finish the job this time versus ECU after playing to a 2-2 tie in Ada in late September. During that contest, OBU had a 2-0 lead.

Bison Notes
●      OBU's last match ended with a scoreless draw at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
●      As of late, the Bison defense has been outstanding, shutting out three of the last four teams.
●      Freshman Brae Baker was named the GAC's Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 17.
●      Goalie Mia Pendleton is third in the GAC in shutouts per game (.308) and second in saves (56).
●      Offensively, OBU has picked up the pace the last couple weeks. After sitting in sixth in shots most of the year, it has jumped to second (13.38) in the conference.
●      Both Kaylee Swaner and Lex Williamson rank in the top-10 in the GAC in shots.
●      Plus, Swaner, Avril Baccam and Hali White are all slotted top-10 in shots on goal.
●      Alanna Bloomingdale still paces OBU with three goals while Swaner has a GAC-high five assists.
●      Williamson is the Bison's other multi-goal scorer with two while six more have scored at least once.
●      In series history, Oklahoma Baptist is 13-2-4 against East Central and has never lost in Shawnee (8-0-1).

East Central Notes
●      ECU's last game against Ouachita was a 2-0 loss.
●      The Tigers have yet to win a game on the road this season (0-6-1).
●      Offensive shortcomings have been the main issue for ECU. They have been shut out in eight of 12 matches. ECU also ranks seventh, last, in the GAC in shots (10.42).
●      Abbie Morris has the team high of two goals this year. She scored one of those versus the Bison.
●      Cambori Watson, Lorianne Baugh, Madison Martinez and Lillianne Rehfuss each have an assist.
●      Tanja Baubock has 14 shots on-goal, which places her fourth in the league.
●      Linea Andersen has made 41 saves while McKenna Leveling has notched 29. Leveling has the third-best goals against average in the GAC at 0.897.
●      In the previous match with OBU, Leveling got the start and allowed two goals and notched six saves.
