ALVA – The opportunities were there but after 90 minutes of play, Oklahoma Baptist tied Northwestern Oklahoma State in Great American Conference soccer action on Saturday.
OBU held a massive advantage in shots, 23-6. Eleven of those were on target. As for the host Rangers, they attempted just three on-target attempts with Bison keeper
Mia Pendleton stopping all of them.
Speaking of defense, OBU generated its second shutout in as many matches with the help of
Brae Baker,
Asley Baker,
Anna Branham and
Michaela White.
Within four and a half minutes of the match,
Hali White and
Avril Baccam had totaled three shots on goal for the green and gold. However, Northwestern keeper Maggie Koster stopped them.
That was the story of the contest on Saturday. Koster ended up with a career-high 11 saves, besting a total of 10 she attained last year.
By match's end, White and
Lex Williamson led the team with three shots on goal while
Olivia Kenas added two.
