Bison, Rangers Play to Scoreless Draw

ALVA – The opportunities were there but after 90 minutes of play, Oklahoma Baptist tied Northwestern Oklahoma State in Great American Conference soccer action on Saturday.

OBU held a massive advantage in shots, 23-6. Eleven of those were on target. As for the host Rangers, they attempted just three on-target attempts with Bison keeper Mia Pendleton stopping all of them.

Speaking of defense, OBU generated its second shutout in as many matches with the help of Brae Baker, Asley Baker, Anna Branham and Michaela White.

Within four and a half minutes of the match, Hali White and Avril Baccam had totaled three shots on goal for the green and gold. However, Northwestern keeper Maggie Koster stopped them.

That was the story of the contest on Saturday. Koster ended up with a career-high 11 saves, besting a total of 10 she attained last year.

By match's end, White and Lex Williamson led the team with three shots on goal while Olivia Kenas added two.

Next on the schedule for OBU is a home date with East Central on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m.
