SHAWNEE – Saturday's Oklahoma Baptist versus Ouachita women's basketball matchup brought a topsy-turvy affair that ended with a massive 89-65 Bison win, their ninth straight.

Among the highlights: a 39-20 Bison lead with around six minutes left until half; A remarkable 20-0 run by the visitors to seize a 40-39 halftime lead; and finally, an incredible 21 straight free throw makes by the green and gold.

OBU moved its record to 10-2 and stayed atop the Great American Conference with a perfect 6-0 mark.

Leading the way for the hosts was
Jaedyn Getman who scored 20 points and hit 4-of-5 from deep. Also aiding the Bison effort was
Erika Ankney who tallied 17 points and tied her season high with six assists. Furthermore,
Madison Chambers provided 11 points and six assists while
Kennedy Large registered 10 points and six rebounds. Plus,
Jill Leslie scored five, grabbed five rebounds and notched three blocks.

As a team, OBU hit 95.7 percent from the free throw line, a season-best. The hosts also made 50.9 percent from the field and a season-high 57.9 percent from deep. Â

In the first, a 9-0 run by the Bison was ended on a
Malou Savanna three that helped the Bison attain an 18-11 advantage. By the quarter's end, it was 20-16 Bison. A period later, the green and gold used some hot shooting from three to go up big.

Ankney, Large and Getman all drained long shots and with some other points from
Sydney Duncan, it was 39-20 OBU at the 5:41 mark. After that, Ouachita turned everyone's heads.

In the final five-plus minutes, the Tigers scored 20 in a row, hit 9-of-11 from the field and watched as OBU missed a handful of shots and turned the ball over several times.

Despite the shock heading into the locker room, the Bison didn't flinch.

In fact, in the second half, Ouachita managed just 14 points over a 16-minute, 52-second span. With the Bison defense hopping, they put the Tigers away.

Offensively,
Kamdyn Graves' back-to-back shots in the fourth helped the Bison attain their biggest lead, 82-54, with about three minutes left in the game.
