RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist (10-4, 6-2 GAC) suffered a 76-50 defeat at the hands of Arkansas Tech (8-4, 6-2 GAC) on Saturday afternoon to wrap its two-game stretch in the natural state.
The Bison struggled to put the ball in the hoop in the contest, posting one of its lowest shooting percentages of the season.
After matching the Golden Suns' 15-point output in the opening quarter, OBU couldn't climb out of its shooting slump and played catch-up for the remainder of the game.
In the first, OBU made five field goals, including two from deep. Afterward, they tallied just 11 more field goals.
Meanwhile, ATU finished with a 44% field goal percentage, including a 47% mark in the opening half.
Oklahoma Baptist showed life in the third quarter, scoring 16 points to Tech's 17, but their shooting woes returned to haunt them in the fourth as just two baskets went through the net.
Madison Chambers led the Bison with 17 points on 40% shooting. The guard added three boards and tied for the most free throws on the team.
Kennedy Large paired a 4-4 showing a the charity stripe with six rebounds, while Malou Savanna and Jaedyn Getman scored five points apiece.
Getman tallied five boards, three less than the team-high of eight from Melissa Southard. Southard finished with two points after making good of her only attempts from the line.
Other notable stats included Jill Leslie's and Sydney Duncan's five rebounds. Duncan charted four points, while Leslie scored three.
The Bison will look to get back on track as they'll return to the Noble Complex next Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. matchup with Southwestern Oklahoma State (3-10, 3-5 GAC). OBU beat the Lady Bulldogs in the GAC opener on Dec. 1 72-52.
