SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist's rivalry with Southwestern Oklahoma State continues Tuesday when the two squads square off at the Noble Complex at 7 p.m. in Great American Conference competition. This contest starts a five-game homestand for the Bison.
This is the 15th all-time matchup with the green and gold holding an 11-3 advantage. The Bison have won five of the last six with the only defeat coming last year when SWOSU edged OBU in five sets in Weatherford.
Last week, coach
Anna Howle's team split a pair of three-set matches with a defeat to East Central and win over Southeastern Oklahoma State. OBU currently stands with a 7-8 record, 1-1 in the conference.

On the opposite bench is SWOSU, led by coach Josh Collins. His squad is 5-7 with a 2-1 GAC record. One of those league wins came against East Central on Sept. 6, a five-setter that saw the Bulldogs rally from a 2-0 match deficit. Most recently, SWOSU lost in five at Southern Nazarene on Sept. 15.
Like the Bison, Southwestern has some solid offensive team ranks within the GAC.
