SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist kicked off their season last week but fell in two hard-fought matches against Washburn and No. 6 (United Soccer Coaches) Central Missouri. This week, the Bison have contests against Texas Woman's (1-1) and Central Oklahoma (2-0), the latter of which takes place at the OBU Soccer Complex on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.
During last week's matches, Washburn had to get a hand ball in the box and subsequent penalty-kick conversion to defeat OBU before the Jennies used a pair of second-half goals to win 3-1.
In goal,
Mia Pendleton picked up a total of 10 saves while
Alanna Bloomingdale notched the team's lone goal. This week, the Bison will look to improve on their offensive chances after averaging a mere 4.0 shots per game a week ago.
Here's how the series history breaks down between TWU and UCO. Thursday's matchup with the Pioneers is the fifth all-time game with each school owning a pair of wins. It will also be the fifth contest against the Bronchos. UCO holds the series advantage, 3-1, but lost last year's match, a 4-3 comeback for OBU.
Here are the top players for the Pioneers:
#7 Dylann Vollaro: Has the lone goal for Texas Woman's this season
#26 Bri Luna: Assisted on Vollaro's goal vs. Regis on Aug. 27
#0 Morgan Sherman: Started both matches in goal last week and notched 15 saves with a .750 save percentage
As for the Bronchos, who will be playing their 500th match in program history versus OBU, there key players:

#11 Madison Linavong leads UCO with a pair of assists
