DES MOINES, IA. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's relay teams posted five top-five finishes to highlight OBU's action at the four-day track event, Drake Relays.
In the women's action, the 4x400 relay squad of Addison Brooks, Tizhane Brooks, Mary McKey, and Taylor James took fourth with a time of 3:46.89 in the finals.
On Friday, the foursome ran a 3:46.40 in the first round to qualify for Saturday's final. The time was a season-best and met the NCAA Division II qualifying standard as the 20th fastest time in the nation.
In the 4x800, Addison Brooks, Taylor James, Emma Downing, and Kayla McGruder took fifth with a time of 9:19.99.
Mary McKey, Isabella Lotz, Tahlor Brown, and Elisabeth Jones took third (59.72) in the shuttle hurdles, while McKey earned a PR in the 400m hurdles. McKey's 59.93 ranks as the seventh-fastest time in the nation, good for an NCAA Division II provisional mark.
On the men's side, the 4x400 and 4x100 teams took fourth in their respective events.
Sayvon Milton, Marcus Petersen, Jax Holland, and Shirvante Knauls clocked a 3:17.60 in the 4x400 final after posting a 3:12.77 in the qualifying round. It is the 17th fastest time (3:12.77) in the country.
Mahcoe Smith, Jax Holland, Jai Moore, and Shirvante Knauls placed first in their heat in the qualifying round of the 4x100 (41.41) before clocking a 41.12 in Saturday's final.
Oklahoma Baptist returns to action in the GAC Outdoor Championships on May 5-7 before competing in their final regular-season meet on May 15 at West Texas A&M.
