PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's track and field team concluded their time at the Pittsburg State Gorilla Classic on Saturday evening, highlighted by a few notable placings.
Senior Taylor James turned in the highest finish of the day, placing fourth in the 400-meter dash in 55.66 seconds. Others competing in the event were Tizhane Brooks and Mary McKey.
In the men's action, Zane Nutter collected the only top-10 finish of the day as he took part in the invite round of the high jump. Nutter leaped 1.97m to place ninth.
Jax Holland's 11th place in the 400 meters was the next highest finish, crossing in 48.30 seconds. Teammate Shirvante Knauls finished shortly after in 48.72 seconds, good for 13th. Others competing in the event were Sayvon Milton and Marcus Petersen.
Maxamillian Wheeler and Jentezen Smith round up OBU's notables, turning in 11th and 12th place finishes in their respective events. Wheeler completed the 5000-meter run in 15:02.65 while Smith finished the 60-meter hurdles event in 8.50 seconds.
