SHAWNEE – After a five-day layoff, the ascending Oklahoma Baptist volleyball team will head to Arkansas on Thursday for Great American Conference contests against Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello on Oct. 6 and 7, respectively.
The Bison have won six straight going into the match versus the Muleriders. Among the key statistics during this streak are the following: 15.05 kills per set, 2.53 blocks and holding opponents to a .131 attack percentage.
Individually,
D'Erricka Frierson has led the team with a 4.05 kills per set average,
Maci Langford has registered 7.2 digs and
Avery Hellmuth has notched 1.10 blocks.
In series history, OBU has never lost to Southern Arkansas in six previous meetings. As for the matchup with UAM, the green and gold are 5-1 and have won the last four contests by 3-0 counts.

Southern Arkansas has had a tough go at it more than halfway through the season. They are 3-14 overall and 2-5 in the GAC. The Muleriders are coming off a 3-0 loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State on Sept. 30. Leading SAU in her first year is Alli O'Banion, a former right side and middle hitter for the program from 2014-17.
