SHAWNEE – Four regular-season matches remain for the Oklahoma Baptist volleyball team. This week, OBU will face off with East Central on Oct. 25 before traveling to Northwestern Oklahoma State on Oct. 28.
During Tuesday night's match, the first 50 students that attend and show OBU ID will be able to have root beer floats. Plus, if the Bison record 10 blocks, fans wearing Bison gear will get free Chick-Fil-A gift cards at the conclusion of the match.
The green and gold (16-9, 10-2 GAC) are looking to avenge a 3-0 road loss to ECU while aiming for the season sweep against the Rangers. Currently, the Bison are in second place in the Great American Conference, two games back of first-place Harding (23-1, 12-0).
A week ago, the Bison won convincingly, 3-0, at Southwestern Oklahoma State. That stopped SWOSU's 19-game home winning streak at Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
Taneyah Brown had 12 kills and a .417 attack mark while
Rylee Martin led in assists (19) with
Maci Langford (29) pacing the defense in digs. Also of note,
Avery Hellmuth tallied six total blocks and the Bison defense held the Bulldogs to a .084 attack percentage.
OBU stacks up pretty well nationally in a few categories while almost exclusively sitting in second in all GAC statistical marks. Here are their best rankings:

East Central (13-14, 8-5 GAC) is riding a six-game winning streak after 3-0 wins over Southeastern Oklahoma State, Southern Nazarene and Midwestern State. They are tied for fourth in the GAC standings and have already clinched a berth into early November's conference tournament.
During the Tigers' 3-0 sweep of OBU on Sept. 13, its first win in the series in 13 matches, Emma Strickland led with 13 kills as ECU hit .317 against OBU. That's the highest percentage given up in GAC play this year by the Bison.

As for the Rangers, they went 2-0 over the weekend after home wins against SE and Southwest College. That boosted coach Jon Bingesser's team's record to 16-10 and 7-5 in the GAC. Northwestern is currently tied for sixth in the standings. In series history, NWOSU has lost six of seven home matches to OBU dating back to Sept. 15, 2015.
