SHAWNEE—After more than a week away from the pitch, the Oklahoma Baptist women's soccer team returns to action on Sept. 23 against East Central. It is the Great American Conference opener for both squads.
Eight days ago, the Bison (1-3-1) played Texas A&M-Commerce to a 2-2, double-overtime draw.
Leaders for Oklahoma Baptist include
Hannah White, who ranks fourth in the GAC in points (6) and goals (3).
Tori Kitchel checks in at third in shots (17) and has also contributed a team-high two assists. Additionally,
Kaylee Swaner ranks seventh in the league with four points and is fifth in goals (2). As a unit, OBU ranks second in the GAC in assists per game (1.20).

ECU currently stands at 1-3, losing their last game to Midwestern State in double overtime. The Tigers' lone win this season came on Sept. 11 when they defeated St. Mary's 1-0. Coming into the fall, coach Riley Bailey's team was picked to finish fourth in the GAC. In the spring, the Tigers made it to the GAC Tournament Semifinals before being defeated by Oklahoma Baptist, 3-0.
Through four matches this fall, East Central has given up six goals, the second-fewest total in the conference.
