FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's track and field teams had a strong showing at the 2021 Arkansas Twilight. It was a day of multiple new personal bests and three event wins, all while competing against top tier NCAA Division I athletes.Â

Olivia Lynch got the first win for the Bison in the women's 3000 meter run, beating out Sabbatha Taylor of Southern Nazarene. She finished with a time of 11:05.68.Â

Jack Reed joined Lynch, placing first in the men's 3000 meter run. He finished with a time of 9:08.74. He beat out Tom Valente of Harding by a time of 3.92 seconds. This was also a new personal best for Reed having bested his previous time (9:16.90) by 8.16 seconds.Â

The third win of the evening came from
Maxamillian Wheeler who ran the 3000 meter steeplechase in 9:45.81. He improved his previous personal best (9:58.13) by an astounding 12.32 seconds.Â

Other top finishes included
Mahcoe Smith (100 meter dash),
Blake Cope (3000 meter steeplechase), and
Nathaniel Worley (high jump).

Kayla McGruder also posted a new personal best in the 3000 meter steeple chase having ran the event with a time of 11:13.56 which was a 14.96 second improvement from the time she posted at the 2021 Great American Conference Championships.Â

The next competition for the men's and women's track and field teams is yet to be determined.Â
