MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Oklahoma Baptist men's and women's track and field teams closed out the indoor regular season at Kansas State's Steve Miller Open Saturday. The Bison competed against Langston, Northern Arizona, and host K-State, finishing the meet with four event wins.

On the men's side,
Marcus Petersen placed first in the 400 meter run (50.86) just ahead of teammates
Joshua Baker and Michael Ward. Newcomer Matthew Norman also brought home top marks, placing first in the 60 meter dash beating KSU's Nate Hassed by 0.04 seconds.

Elisabeth Jones (600 yard run) and
Isabella Lotz (triple jump) were the top finishers on the women's team. Jones beat out teammate Sylvia Lambert 1:38.66 to 1:43.13, while Lotz finished the triple jump with a distance of 10.56 meters.

The Bison will now await the decision from the NCAA to see who will make it to the 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships. The selection process will happen Sunday, Feb. 28 and Monday, March 1.

Tarees Rhoden could possibly qualify in the 400 meter run," said OBU head coach
Ford Mastin.

Zane Nutter has a chance after jumping 6'9.5" in the high jump.
Mahcoe Smith has a good chance in the 60 meter dash, and the men's 4x400 relay will qualify, and the girls are on the bubble in the 4x400," said Mastin.
