Bison Open New Year With Win Over Evangels

SHAWNEE – It has been exactly 300 long days since the Bison took the court.
 
Boy did it ever feel good to be back.
 
The Oklahoma Baptist men's basketball team took care of business in its Saturday afternoon exhibition, beating Mid-America Christian, 82-57. The Bison finished the game shooting 50% from the field and 43.3% from behind the arc.
 
Jarius Hicklen led the Bison with 23 points, going 4-5 in three-point territory. Jaquan Simms, Harrison Stoddart, and Brantly Thompson all finished the afternoon with double-digit scoring performances. Stoddart also led the team with eight rebounds and chalked up three blocks.
 
OBU will open its regular season schedule on Tuesday with a trip to Canyon, Texas, to take on third-ranked West Texas A&M. Tip-off for the contest is set for 4:00 p.m., and live audio will be streamed on OBUBison.com with "Voice of the Bison" Todd Miller on the call.
